When it comes to /co/lette I don't so much try to strike a balance between the absurd pinuppy stuff and the more down to earth "serious" tenor of the comic. I tend to treat it more like a pretty sharp division. The thing is, the comic as written doesn't have too much space for a pinnuppy sexualized glamour shot or even awkward and funny porny situations. It was developed as a heartfelt hero origin story and I think it's pretty good at that. However the character was, still is, kinda a sexy character whose adventures are silly and attractive. I don't know if I've ever honestly tried to strike a "balance" between the two. I sorta just think there's a different place for the different stories that make up a singular full person. If there are sexy pinups, silly or embarrassed as they may look, I just want them to be a celebration of a sexy person. I'd like the majority of them to be of good humor. I don't mind, and have dabbled with the weirder and the darker. But mostly I like to think both a pinuppy piece of art and a straightforward heroic tale can co-exist side by side if not harmoniously joined for one story, then complimenting the reader and viewer's experience of both. Anyway, here's /co/lette suddenly naked and skateboarding.
