Something from the Archive (15 years ago) (Patreon)

I didn't have the opportunity to make any new (good) drawings the last few days. I've spent most of this time coordinating and fixing up the apartment. It kinda kills me that this was only ever meant to be a temporary thing but hey, at least it seems livable at this point. I can even make a patreon post here.

So hey, I thought I'd dig up something from the old art folder. And I'm not sure I've ever posted the ORIGINAL Colette drawing on here. See, back so many years ago I frequented the /co/ image board on 4chan, which was dedicated to comics and cartoons. (different time, a lot less internet jerks in that room 15 years ago...) Anyway, one thread started and people were asked to make a list of traits that would create the "ideal female character" and there were a lot of joke items thrown in. Popeye's forearms. Toph's feet. Cassandra Cain's scars. Powergirl's boob window. It was kinda a mess and like... it sounded fun. So I made this sketch. It's possibly the first "/Co/lette" from before they even named her /co/lette.

She was a hit, the board enjoyed drawing her and there was a lot of creativity at the time. Loads of art by really talented amazing people. But like... I dunno... 15 years later and now I'm the only one left. I've also sorta changed a bunch of her details, added more lore in different ways that aren't related to /co/ at all. She's pretty different now, with a whole personality and attitude and new designs. I kinda treat her like my own character. But hey, I'll still remember where she first came from.
