Happy Birthday, kid (Patreon)

Because I'm a super sappy person at heart I like coming up with scenes like this. And when it comes to traditionally uptight Bruce Wayne and often neglected and trauma filled Cassandra Cain, a sweet moment is hard to pass up. You can get their drama in the official comics and that's all well and good. But that leaves an opening for someone like me to imagine something a little nice for them. Especially for Cassandra Cain's birthday.

Anyway, if you're having trouble reading the text it goes:

Dear Cassandra,

Today is your 22nd birthday. I made you a cake.

You’ve grown so much this past year, and though it was often hard you never stopped your learning. The dedication, the resolve, and the passion you put into everything has made us all proud to have you with us. For as much as you’ve learned from us, we have learned from you. Not just your skills, but your compassion and your courage has made us a stronger family. And having you, as my daughter has made me a better man.
