One of the things I'm really impressed by in good animated films are attention to palettes as they relate to the emotional story arcs. You'll find segments of the story where everything is grey but then just revitalized with color as we get to the point where all the heroes are working together. That kind of stuff is really nice.

While I can't say the palette in our latest Cassiopeia chapter was perfect, I did make an effort to keep the time of day progressing in interesting ways through just use of color. Excluding the pages that are still in black and white, mostly for production reasons, I hope you can see that each page has a kind of schema to it. The dusty dirty planet the race is set on switches to explosions and fire and stuff when the crab appears on screen. The place is entirely shadowy and cloudy when Motorminx shows up to slice the other cars. The smog is blown away during the space ship chase. And now we're entering into a proper kind of sunset with warm pinks and blues.

I hope that all came across well.
