I'm still a bit wonk these days, I blame lack of sunlight and exercise. 

Anyway, not to bore you with all that. Let's just talk about having to use logic as an artist. As a comic artist, or someone doing commissions, or doing characters. you can be limited by what stock items you already know how to draw. You might lack the time it takes to really study something and make it come to life in an illustration so, given constraints you do what you can using what you already know.


I bring this up because I don't really know how a split dress would fall, should Jessica Rabbit cross her legs. And this seems like something I should know already... Or at the very least have reference of.

Well how deep is the split in Mrs rabbit's dress? That should determine whether or not she crosses her legs... If the split is just about knee height then yeah. If the cut runs higher then no cause of the off chance she'd flash her underwear.

When she sits, she determines how it's going to fall. Watch women in skirts sometime. Notice that they all smooth it under their butt and then arrange it a bit over the top. So any combination of bared/covered is valid.
