Zafira belongs to Bast, and he asked for her in a sexy kitty outfit for a commission so I obliged.

Anyway, I'm getting into the groove of this "sketchy painty" look. It shows rough edges all over the place but it can be quite good looking AND fast. And getting better at this can only help in the future. I can't quite bring myself to draw a comic like this yet. But painting quickly really helps me get over small corrections which take up the majority of my time.

To be sure, I LOVE little details and little extra things with detailed backgrounds and good inks. So finding the right balance between those two will be a good fight.

PS. There's a copy of this in the high res dropbox. Feel free to check it out! Look back in the activity feed if you need the link again.

What is "sketchy paint?" I tried googling it but can't find a good article that details this technique. I would like to try this in my digital art.

"Belongs" is an interesting choice of words in this context...

She's super-adorable, and it's a ton of fun watching you develop a new style you're digging. Anything that makes working with us more fun and lower-stress is a darn good thing in my book! :)

Its kinda not a real term. I just sorta mean that I'm painting really fast. And instead of perfecting the color at once and slowing down, I apply a new layer and paint over the rest.
