What a surprise to find this show! It just started a couple weeks ago, based on a serialized manga from 2016. It's such a charming little thing. I hope all the episodes are as good as the first couple.

It's the combination of a lot of factors that make it really unique. The character designs hit you first. It's rare to see a popular anime about high school girls that have such distinctive designs. I would recommend Princess Jellyfish as well, in that regard. But Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken starts off at least as a phenomenal love letter to animation and creativity. I don't wanna spoil it too much, since it's very easy to jump in and get caught up with the characters.

Anyway, I just had to draw two of the leads. It makes me wanna dive in and play with more varied body shapes and appearances. I mean, the internet has been reminding me to do that for decades. Might as well get started.

i love their designs, kanamori is just so tall and gangly and weirdly aggressive? also yay for Eizoken encouraging folks to experiment with varied body shapes!

I'm not an artist, but the explanations about animation and design are so well executed that I really grok what's happening—things that my mind just elides and accepts (like how blown debris makes animated wind 'visible') suddenly snap into understanding. And it's super great to see you draw fanart of them, too! Everyone should have a Kanamori in their lives, terrifying foes into submission.
