So I know I've drawn Chef Girl, largely in the context of having her appear with a cute sexy bunny girl. But for the most part, I still consider her the star of a dramatic story that I'm forming in my head. It features a lot of subjects very personal to me and I think the "restaurateur" aspect has a good amount of appeal. That said, I think a date with a cute bunny girl ALSO has a good amount of appeal.

I wanted to take a moment to discuss "crying" and drawing crying. This is mostly directed at anime artists but there's a tendency to want to draw crying girls as really pretty. They have that sparkly wide open eyes and the soft light colors and still come out as pretty. On the other hand, the manga One Piece goes ahead and gives everyone an UGLY cry. Like the characters are really bawling and you can feel it.

There's a particular scene I have in mind for Chef Girl to really let loose and cry. But it's kinda at the beginning of this story and I don't quite want to make her seem like she cries ALL the time. So I'd probably spend the rest of the comic having her tough things out.

I like it, the painful grimace cry, the teeth shut and grinding cry, the lips turned in face tight cry, it's basically never pretty but it's always powerful. Seeing someone cry makes you feel raw inside.
