Some further testing of exaggerated poses but also another realization. I think there's an appeal to having these really dead simple 3/4th shots of a character's face. Having a simple "talking head" in a comic isn't inherently a bad solution to solving the narrative problem. If I want to have a character just talking and expressing themselves, a simple 3/4 view portrait is all I need for that panel. You don't want to always be doing an action shot or really complicated shot.

Manga has learned that often times you don't even need to see a person's face as long as the dialog is doing its job and you can recognize whose voice is speaking. It's something to think about in the future.
