I've had a pretty long and tiring day but I'd have to say it was overall a good one. There were loads of bad things/spooky things/troublesome things. But lots of good things and overall it was good to spend time at the convention, touching base with loads of other creatives, and then getting to geek out with my friend and writer Gunwild.

But like... just so I have a record of this stuff actually having happened to me, I'm going to type them out here before I pass out from exhaustion.

-Bus this morning, it actually broke down on the last stop BEFORE leaving for New York City. We all waited on the bus for something like half twenty minutes before seeing if they could fix it. And because it's New Jersey Transit and they're broke as hell, they couldn't get shuttles for us. We'd have to try our luck fitting on the next bus in about 40 minutes (which would probably be full to capacity) or waiting for the replacement bus to leave the reserve fleet from over an hour away. So instead, I actually managed to wrangle three other stranded passengers and ordered us a Lyft to the city, splitting the bill four ways made it affordable. Technology is pretty cool.

-The cast of characters that got into that Lyft together were a pretty ecclectic bunch, I wouldn't have been surprised if this was going to be the start of some horror/survival movie as these five people from totally different backgrounds struggle in a game of wits.

-Spent time around Creator Connection. I was starting to get the sense that it was more like a cult than it was a really truly fruitful source of connections. But it's alright, I think it can help force people to meet new people and start new opportunities.

-Bumped into an old classmate, they recognized me well before I recognized them. They were writing a comic! For a respectably sized publisher! I bought their book!

-One of my old editor contacts seems to have disappeared which is pretty disappointing. He'd been moving from position to position at so many different companies, but I think I'll have totally lost track of him after this one. Which is a shame since he was my favorite points of interest at NYCC, and I would make sure to check in.

-Met another old friend at another publisher. They're going to reprint one of my favorite books! (uncensored no less)

-Haunted around artist alley for peeps, talked with loads of them. Mostly people I've seen before, they seem to recognize me. That either means I'm too much of a stalker or I've just got a recognizable face. I've been told it's the latter.

-Got pieces of art with cassandra cain on it.

-Talked with Damion Scott who drew the first several arcs of Cassandra! And also got to talk to Alex Maleev who came up with her design!

-Talked with Krakow and the folks at Spinnyverse. Always fun to meet other webcomic folks.

-Ate some poutine at a tiny hole in the wall restaurant on the way to the bus station. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant even if I can recommend poutine.

-Couldn't get on the bus! It was too full! Had to wait half an hour for the next one!

-Traffic jam on the bus ride back home!

-Whew, back home. Oh hey... where's my tablet? The one with all my art.

-Briefly looking up how to remotely disable a tablet.

-Look up the number to the javits lost and found.

-Seems like they have it!

-hopefully all goes well.

-the day has been long.
