The Amazing Digital Circus is a bit of an odd one for me cause I really liked the pilot episode but I'm a little wary of how popular it had become. The show's funny, beautifully animated, and really weird in a way I can get behind. But those things haven't just made it popular, they've made it a popular content mill for weird youtube vids to latch onto. This isn't the fault of the original creators, let alone Gooseworks who did fantastic work with this series. But loads and loads of people are just making cheap content milled out videos to leech off the pilot's appeal with all ages.

I hope that it doesn't discourage the show's team. They seem to be taking it in stride. But fandoms like this can become weirdly possessive in a way that is aggressive to the original creators.

I love TADC but I dread the day where the switch flips in the Twitter hivemind and it becomes trendy to shit all over the show for entirely made-up reasons. Hazbin Hotel was similarly massively popular after the pilot aired and now four years removed you can't engage with any piece of content about it without mouthbreathers inventing new controversies. IDK when it happened but in the last few years it's become SOP to--when you grow tired of seeing a popular thing in your feed--start throwing tantrums about it and trying to find reasons to "cancel" it rather than just blocking tags and moving on with your life.
