A video game came out about Gollum! People hate it! Honestly it would be weird if a video game came out about him and people loved it. I just love on principle that there's a game about him at all, and I stan a controversial king. Most people just don't appreciate the delightful novelty of parkouring around a world of grand, epic high fantasy and ancient evils and elves and wizards as a wet little pathetic weirdo who eats bugs and talks to himself. Their loss.

All the talk about the Gollum game made me want to rewatch the masterpiece early 2000's film trilogy, so I did so (over a few days, I don't have the stamina for all three in a solid marathon), and I got my sketchbook out while watching. I'm not afraid to admit that this guy has always been by far my favorite character in the entire trilogy, so I decided it was high time to draw him. He takes some cues from the CGI Andy Serkis design but not all the way.
