Introduction to Everything New Here! (Patreon)

Hello old and new Patrons!

Over the last few days, I received an audit of my Patreon page from a close friend who gave me lots of nice feedback about what she felt I could improve around the page-- which is something I'm always trying to do!

So, for the sake of clarity (and excitement) here's a list of stuff I changed/improved!

The "Secret Blog" is now the "Secret Club"! "Access" is now "membership"!

This is very much a simple word change, but a word change I feel is for the better. I have a hard time expressing in my own words the expansive amount of stuff $5+ patrons get from pledging, and using the word "blog" wasn't doing me much good-- "blog" implied more writing than art whereas I feel club not only reflects the communal feeling this page has, but also the reality that you're part of an exclusive group of people directly making my work happen and getting to see it early.

Also, it's just a lot more fun to be club members I think-- it makes me want to design jackets for us, haha.

New Tier pictures, new tier descriptions!

These were long overdue-- and I actually went thru 2 drafts before I finalized the designs. Before, it was art of myself, but I realized that not only were the images too small-- but nobody is really following my stuff for me, but rather my characters. So I chose to mainly have the Solanaceae cast represent each tier. I also think the new images help reflect the type of content you'll receive by pledging. The descriptions also just needed to be more clear and to the point, simple as that.

Re-wording and re-organizing the bulk of the main page!

I had introduced a big "click this to get the $5 club membership" button a few weeks ago, thinking it would help introduce people to the tier-- but I think it may have just spooked people off and been more confusing than helpful. I worry it hurt my pledges in June/July-- but it's gone now! (Sorry Satine) The overall wording and organization on the front of the page is better now too-- as well as FINALLY having descriptions for my comics and cutting down on some links. Phew!

New banner (and I'll probably draw an even newer one at some point)

While I loved my old banner, and I think it showed off the range of stories I like to tell-- right now the Patreon really is mostly focused on Solanaceae and also the old one was a bit too busy for mobile. In fact, I had almost forgotten entirely about mobile viewers (sorry!!! sometimes I just forget stuff exists, haha)  so a lot of the wording/images/etc are now better suited for mobile. 

The banner will definitely be updated as time goes on, as my Patreon and stories have always been ever changing and flexible. For now, a cute Battam and Sal will suffice.

The $1 tier is now capped, and I've introduced a $3 tier in it's place.

This may be changed later-- but I cannot continue to endure Patreon's HEAVY fees it places on the $1 tier. I cannot lie to you, my lovely $1 tiers, almost none of that money you've pledged see's me. It gets eaten up by not only Patreon, but Paypal. 

Lots of people have eliminated their $1 tier because of that-- but I've held back on it because I would rather people be able to support me and see early pages than not, ya know?

If you'd rather just upgrade to the $3 tier right now to help me out, here's the link to do so! (And I'd also recommend just taking the leap and upgrading to $5, honestly.)

****EDIT: I've also just noticed a VAST majority of you don't have a cap on your pledge, meaning you spend $4 each month instead of just $1-- but did you know you could upgrade your pledge to the $5 tier, and cap it there, and enjoy the benefits of the Secret Club instead? It's a difference of only a dollar and you get a LOT more bang for your buck.

Putting a cap on your pledge is as easy as upgrading! When doing so, there is a box where you simply tell Patreon you only want to spend $5 MAX in a month, and that's all you're charged and viola! Club membership!

So, as a solution for now, I will be capping the $1 tier at 50 patrons. That will still take a while to get to, but once that happens anyone new will need to pledge to the $3 tier in order to gain the same rewards as the $1 tier.

Nothing else has changed with tiers, and you are still getting ALL of your usual rewards. So fret not! 

And I'm sure there's more I've forgotten about, so let's just say generally the Patreon got cleaned up, got new art, and a new tier! Wahoo!

As the season changes from summer to fall, and fall to winter-- this page will inevitably face hardships as everyone has more and more bills during those times. It happens! 

So during these times you may see me push the page more and more, in different ways! I appreciate everyone's patience with all of my promotional stuff, and with all the new stuff I try out all the time.

I hope you're as excited for the future of this page, and my website, and my comics and games and ALL the dang stuff, as I am!
