Very few humans know the true history of the origin of the world. Gods, humans presumed, would tell their stories when the time was suitable; except, there was never a suitable time.

Rituals preformed, virgins sacrificed, blood bestowed on the faithful and still the gods remained silent. Apples were passed between the men, pomegranates between the women. Bites taken and swallowed.

The humans whispered to each other.

Then. A crack of thunder. Lightening torching the sky.

Eyes raised skyward, whispers of disbelief by the light of the fires.

The gods heard everything.
