Hades & Persephone “Neon Gods” (Patreon)

I’m eyeballs deep in this series and MAN does it escalate haha. This book was my first exposure to exhibitionist kink and wow, I once I got past being utterly terrified it was a lot of fun to read! That’s why we love smut! We can pretend, safely in our minds were we can control everything and not be embarrassed haha. Katee Robert did a nice job of peaking curiosity and easing into things. Also, it helps when your dom is the king of the underworld! Such capable hands *wink* I love a good Hades x Persephone story, there are a million of them in romance erotica and they always deliver.

The only thing that I wanted from this series was more magic and fantastical stuff but that’s my own preference. The world building is very modern but I’m here for all the indulgent visuals of fantasy world building. However who cares about the scenery when Katee writes, possibly some of the best sex scenes I’ve read yet. I just started “Cruel Seduction” so I have been working my way through illustrating the characters of each book. I think “Wicked Beauty” may be my favorite so far. Though everyone is losing their shit over Cruel Seduction and so far Pandora is one of my favorite characters in the series. This one might steal first place once I’m through with it. Katee is working on a new one as well so I will definitely be picking that up when it releases.

I think I’m going to add a title and by line to this one to make it a cover. I want to start doing test covers for proof of concept for cover work. I can’t really use all the middle grade book covers I’ve done as proof of concept for this genre. I don’t want to cross the streams of my daytime work and this stuff so I’m going to build a portfolio site to use for authors and publishers. The romance genre needs all the design help they can get! They always get shafted with resources in publishing and I love working with like minded people. It’s nice to finally be doing art that is uninhibited. I’m finding the community around romance novels and NSFW art to be very fun and kind.
