Harmony isn't really a plan-maker or schemer. I'm pretty sure she simply looked up Cordelia for old times' sake and then got hungry, lol. It's interesting that as a vampire, although she does do the evilly vampire things, she has a kind of sweetness about her that she never showed as a mean-girl mortal. Given what we know about mortal personalities and how certain core traits can be isolated and heightened by the demonic parasite of vampirism -- like Spike's hopeless romanticism when he was simply William, or that vampire who liked to read and study and the Judge burned because there was too much humanity -- we can speculate more about Harmony as a mortal. The mean girl thing was almost certainly just an act, even when she turned on Cordy post-Xander, hiding a "little girl" vulnerability and sweetness, and a frightened insecurity. So as a vampire, the sweetness really shows more, even as Harmony tries so hard to be the demon she knows she's *supposed* to be, and her insecurities are heightened as well. I never expected Harmony to become a character I like so well, but McNab plays her brilliantly.

Angel figuring out all he needed to do was buy Cordy a new wardrobe is hilarious. It showed how much Angel truly cares about her happiness. What can we say about Mercedes McNab that hasn’t already be said. She plays Harmony brilliantly. Her comedic timing is spot on. I bet this was a fun episode to film for the actors.

i kind of think Cordy's love of clothes is, on some level, the same commentary as Rachel's in Friends: liking fashion does not make you any more shallow than liking dinosaurs or rooting for New York Knicks... Spike watches soap operas, Giles loves to dress up in costumes, Oz plays in a band. And it's all okay.

I don't think it's strange that Angel turned away from the dark side so abruptly. Yes, the descent was slower, but it wasn't ONE decisive event, but a chain of situations and influences that led him to slowly turn darker. Breaking away from the dark side, on the other hand, happened through several epiphanies that were close together. The realization that Darla cannot make him happy, the knowledge he gained that there is no 'final enemy' that he can fight, but that he must be a permanent firewall against the omnipresent evil and the awareness he gained that he cannot do this alone and that he needs his friends and they need him. So I can certainly see why the turnaround could happen so quickly.
