Jamie Lee Curtis is seriously just one of my favorite performers of all time, she's like Jennifer Aniston status at this point (and that's saying something!).  Overall just a super fun movie with a sweet message

This was so much fun to watch again, and I was able to get my copy to actually sync up for once, yay! (I have a questionable connection that doesn't like streaming two browsers at once sometimes, but I'm going to try with The Descendants tomorrow since this worked so well.) Have you checked out the movie FREAKY? It's a more mature, darker take on Freaky Friday, not an actual reboot but definitely inspired by it. A more immature-but-fun body swap movie is THE HOT CHICK, though you definitely have to enjoy some cruder humor to really like it, lol. And be forewarned, it does star Rob Schneider! It's so funny that at the moment early in the film when Anna dropped her purse at school and everything fell out, that you mentioned the pilot of Buffy, because that's *exactly* what went through my head at that moment. 😄

Disney has confirmed that a sequel is in the works, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan expected to reprise their roles! Some fun facts: Jamie was cast at the last minute after Annette Bening dropped out for undisclosed reasons a few days before filming. Initially they wanted Jodie Foster, who played the daughter in the original movie from 1976, to play the mum in the remake. She declined because she didn't want to overshadow everyone else. When Jamie found out that Lindsay was in The Parent Trap she asked "Which twin did she play?" 😂 Both Lindsay and Jamie got guitar lessons for the movie but their playing was overdubbed by professional studio musicians. Mark Harmon (Ryan) is most known for his role as Jethro Gibbs on NCIS but he's been in a LOT of shows and movies. He did an excellent job playing Ted Bundy in a TV miniseries called "The Deliberate Stranger". Highly recommend. Jamie and Julie Gonzalo who played Stacey (mean girl) also worked together on a Christmas movie called Christmas With The Kranks (also starring Tim Allen) where Julie played her daughter. I recommend watching that for Christmas! Additionally, Julie Gonzalo (Staceu) and Chad Michael Murray (Jake) worked together on A Cinderella Story (which I also recommend) with Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire). Chad was a "teen" heartthrob in the early-mid 00s and was in many TV shows, but his big break was a teen/young adult drama called One Tree Hill. He has also starred in as some horror movies and Hallmark Christmas movies. One very underrated movie he's in is called To Write Love On Her Arms. It's based on the life of Renee Yohe and the founding of To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA), a nonprofit organisation that helps people struggling with addiction, depression, self harm and suicidal thoughts. Kat Dennings plays the lead role (you may have seen her in Thor).
