Brainwashed or not, it's a fact that the brain finishes maturing in your mid to late twenties. it's still wild to me that US folks are allowed to enlist/die for their country at 18 but arent' allowed to drink until their 21. As for the young German soldier W. shot: there was an entire SS Panzer Tank Division towards the end of the war with the majority of its recruits being 16 & 17yo boys from the Hitler Youth brigades. 1st Battalion: over 65% were under 18 years old & only 3% were over 25. (wiki) As the war progressed and Germany had more casualties the more teenagers "volunteered". There is a German film called Die Brücke (The Bridge, 1959), based on an autobiographical novel, where a number of teenage boys are ordered to protect a small bridge in their home village. It's a no-win situation, which one of the boys (the writer) leaves. I believe all his friends got killed. He wrote the book to process his feelings of guilt.

its hard to see what a great leader Lt "Moose" Heyliger was only to be shot by friendly fire. Then to be replaced by Lt. Dyke who is a horrible leader. Must have been really hard for Winters to not take direct control over Easy again. you can really see how much Winters cares forr the guys. The next two episodes are really great.. some of my favs... even tough they are pretty rough to watch
