RRR was the surprise movie of this year for me. As I understood from my friends that are more well-versed in the Indian movie industry, RRR is very different and almost a genre of its own. I really enjoy it and I hope such jewels are more accessible and become real contenders in the world’s movie industry.

Ram and Bheem were actually real people who fought for India's Independence. They didn't know each other in real life, but the Director thought it would be interesting to make a movie about what if these two men did know each other and became friends. The actors who play them are two of the most popular actors in India today and have actually been very good friends for years which is why their friendship shows so strongly on screen. I saw an interview with the Director who said that he had to invite both men to his house to talk about doing this project together because he knew if he told one of them first, they would have called each other before the Director could have had the chance to call the other one. The song Naachu Naachu was an original song and won an Oscar, they even had dancers do a performance during the award show. They had to stop filming for a little while due to the lockdown, but the actors said it was still very hard to stay in shape during that time. They still had to work out every day.
