IT ALL ENDS!! (well... at least until the Hobbit...)  It's honestly incredible that Peter Jackson & co knocked it out of the park yet again for the third movie, upped the stakes/ action, and most importantly nailed the landing with a more than satisfying ending.  One of my favorite films EVER

Hey Thor! If you haven’t gotten all the audiobooks for LoTR yet, I HIGHLY suggest getting the ones read by Andy Serkis. He does all the voices incredibly well (especially Sam, Frodo, and Gandalf) so there’s something a little more magical about them. Not to mention, more Smeagle is always a good thing… right? 😂

Thinking about it now, all of the Hobbits accomplished legendary feats: Pippin caused the Ents to take action, Sam defeated Shelob in her spider form, Merry stripped away the Witch King's invulnerability, and obviously Frodo destroyed the ring. There's actually a theory about Sam being the real protagonist, I don't remember everything about it, but the story doesn't really begin until he appears, his is the final ending, and he really carries (pun somewhat intended) the quest. You mentioned Gandalf seeming like God, and you're pretty close. That's basically what the wizards are, him, Sauron, Radagast, the blues, they came from the universe's version of heaven. Maybe angels? Something like that. Oh! if you enjoy games at all, you should play the Shadow of Mordor games, they take place between The Hobbit and LOTR and it connects a bunch of story threads. The second one explains who the Nazgul were, and the first shows the corruption of Mordor.
