I love how they took they whole " they got what they wanted and stopped calling and moved on" that happens to so many teenage couples and made Angel an actual monster. So much of this show is a metaphor for life experiences. And done so well!! And, I believe Jenny to be just as much a victim of her destiny as Buffy. Neither deserves blame for moments when they falter. Neither asked for the hand that fate dealt them. And yes, the "single moment of happiness" was during sex. When the brain completely shuts down and no other thoughts are allowed. "Le petit mort" the French call it. He had certainly been happy before, but always with a backdrop of regret and suffering. But, not in that moment.

Everyone's pretty much said everything I would probably say in terms of anything missed/misconstrued, but I can tell you that I always dread Surprise/Innocence. I feel like that's when a piece of Buffy dies inside, which is sad. Don't get me wrong, I love Angelus as a character and ship 'Bangelus' in fan fiction, but... damn. As a big Buffy/Angel fan, it's heartbreaking. I will also say that there's some weird thing where everyone intersperses the whole Angel/Angelus thing. I've always tended to call him Angelus when he's evil, but they still end up calling him Angel, which is strange to me. Then again, you also can go with the fan theory that the soul and the demon don't share a body, but Angel is essentially Angelus with a leash... it's a little weird and definitely very subjective. Gotta say, my favorite moment is when she kicks him in the balls xD I'm sorry cuz I know as a girl it may seem predictable... but I like the fact that that particular moment really brings them down to woman/man, exes, etc. instead of just the supernatural aspects of it. Like, this guy screwed me over and is being a jerk about this really private, vunerable moment and just kinda... brings him to his knees, literally :P it's a badass moment that really breaks down their dynamic into the simplest forms.

I understand why people think the gang are being too harsh on Jenny. I love Jenny, OF COURSE she doesn't deserve this. We have seen her talk to her uncle, heard her defend angel, it's clear that she didn't know. It's evident that she's not told her uncle about Buffy and I suspect she should have. But Buffy doesn't know that. tbh Buffy doesn't really know her very well at all. AND she's in a world of pain and, understandably, lashing out. Should she have body slammed Jenny into a desk? No, that's assault. But I can see why she's freezing her out because she just can't deal with any more information and is hanging on by a thread. As for Giles, I think his choice of wording is important. He doesn't say 'get out' he says 'she said get out'. He is laying down his cards and supporting Buffy. This is both his job AND the right thing to do. Buffy is 17, and has just had her world turned upside down. He knows that Buffy will likely have to kill her first love now that he's turned. Jenny is an adult and, in his eyes at least, potentially responsible for some of this. But, more than that, he's hurt. Jenny is EVERYTHING he's wanted, stunningly good looking, witty, intelligent, challenging, forgiving of his past sins, and a lot younger than him. I think it's natural that he would assume the worst - that she was only interested in him (the fuddy duddy), and only forgave him, to get closer to Buffy and Angel. He's emotional right now and not thinking straight, this is fairly well established as his MO (he thought that going after the Master was a good idea ffs! He thought getting drunk was a good response to Eyghon's return. This man is not HALF as logical as he likes to think he is). So, no, it's NOT fair. And I feel for Jenny SO MUCH in this episode, caught by a destiny she never asked for by a century old curse and family obligations. And yes, Giles should (and I suspect does) understand that. But I can also understand Buffy and Giles' reactions. They have both lost their lovers on the same day. But (I suspect) both of them hope to have them back one day. And that conversation in the car at the end, chef's kiss :'(
