This one stuck with me.  Some seriously innovative, horrifying, and memorable scares/ kills in this one.  Freddy Kruger is such a perfect personality and design for a malevolent evil force, and Nancy is one hell of a great Scream Queen.  I really enjoyed this movie, and, after having edited the Youtube version, I have an even greater appreciation for what was being done with the story behind the camera.  Sweet dreams, everyone!

Midnight Crypt Worx (Nikki Davis)

LOVE this movie/s. I watched this as a kid and I would have nightmares sooooo bad. This sounds dumb, but when you are little people say that anything is possible right? For me I was like, anything is possible, so Freddy could be real!! Really screwed me up as a kid, but I couldn't get enough either. lol. Will you react to the other movies? Now, these are my favorite horror movie series of all time. He's just so terrifying.

I mean I can't exactly recommend the whole series, but Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994) is an intriguing take, and began Wes's attempts to deconstruct the horror formula which resulted in Scream (1996). Some of the other sequels are worthwhile too, but it's very hit and miss.

As for the ending, it is open for you to interpret. I tend to like the idea it is just the end of the nightmare, and Nancy wakes up in the real world after the movie. But in the sequel we actually find out this is the beginning of Nancy's mental breakdown. But that is a retcon. Indeed the final scene itself is a retcon. The movie ends in the script with Nancy turning her back on Freddy and him melting into the floor.
