There is a debate about who the main character of Friends is ... and I've always said the main character is Ross . Monica is his sister, chandler is his college roommate/friend, Rachel is his love, Pheobe has a connection to Ross before she knew Monica, and Joey altho chandlers roommate...becomes Ross's best friend. Ross is literally the center. But if that's not enough to convince you... the universe attacks Ross non-stop. He's the only character to have some of the most extreme bad luck and weird situations

this is all so "Papa Don't Preach" as Phoebe says to Rachel, meaning a popular song by Madonna. The lyrics talk about a girl who tells her father that she is pregnant and refuses to have an abortion or give up the baby for adoption, despite her friends' advice. The title is a request for the narrator's father not to lecture; later lyrics ask him to bless the relationship. The Mona vs Ross vs Rachel's father scene always made me laugh. 😂 David is just so over the top hilarious there... 😂 we all need Joey in our lives and inside our minds, to be able to tell people like Leonard Green to go to heII ... Monica got married because she really wanted to. Rachel was forced into marriage second time this time, by her father. (In the pilot she's on the phone with him trying to explain why she jilted Barry) .... Joey's "go to hell" is so powerful. I always thought it was a hilarious scene but now it hits differently. Phoebe supported Rachel to tell her father the truth. Ross gave her one more push, though he wanted Mona to know the truth, and Ross's talk made Rachel do the right thing, if over the phone. ... and Joey cemented it. He's also part of Rachel's support system. And without knowing, he said what needed to be said. One day, hopefully, Rachel will say it herself. Yup, that's why Rachel is the way she is ... Although now she's a successful working woman, paying her own bills - she falls back into unhealthy pattern when he's around. He spoils her with money and then abuses her with yelling at her , scaring her, and pushing his plans on her. Heeeey honeyyyy here you gooo, a pony, The Plaza, a diamond ring..........and the screaming and yelling. Leaving and getting her own job and life was the best decision ever. I think this was the first time we heard Rachel's full name - Rachel Karen Green. Phoebe and Rachel keeping the bachelorette party secret from Chandler is just another item on the list of weirdly mean things Phoebe does to him in the second half of the series ... "I made a mistake but that's just because I like you." - Ross and Riley from Buffy. Yes, Riley also made that excuse. It was popular in the 90s and 2000s I guess, but it's an incredibly hypocritical and stupid excuse. No, you made a mistake because you have anxiety. Or you're a coward. Or you're not skilled at controlling your fears or other emotions. Not because you like some other human.

Ursula's ex has anger/temper issues? He's allowed to be mad so soon after a break up when finding out how much she lied to him. Come on, you'd be even more angry. ...Ughh, Ross having planned with the father to force Rachel into marriage against her will ... ? Ross letting a guy scream at Rachel, call her baby a bastard and have her marry Ross out of fear? Come on, like fans need more reasons to hate Ross after sexuaIIy assauIting his cousin and laughing at Chandler for getting sexually assaulted by a man.
