Tara and Willow have "income" from scholarships, which is why they don't have jobs. Also, after school they take care of an unofficially adopted teenager. After finishing Friends, i think it's worth checking out the "rip-off" show How I Met Your Mother that came 1 year after Friends - it has Willow as one of the main leads. Alyson Hannigan is amazing.

I'm totally siding with Giles on that one. Yes, it's good for the Scoobys that Buffy is back (not even gonna touch where they pulled her from), but the arrogance of Willow to even try to bring Buffy back against all laws of nature... I really liked Willow in the beginning of the show and found her curiosity about all things magic kind of endearing but the more power she gained the more arrogant, selfish and reckless she became. Like she knows best and she can do all and to hell with the consequences. I mean she practically put the spellbook about raising the dead into Dawn's hand when she asked to resurrect Joyce and now she actually did it herself with Buffy. Even if she tries to justfy her actions, might even believe in doing something good I think it is alarming that she doesn't seem to care about concequences and possible costs. And for me the things she said to Giles definitively read thread. You don't warn someone off if you don't mean it. Unfortunately I don't see her stoping without either breaking herself with to much power or something or someone in the world around her - maybe not even then. I really don't like her much at all anymore. And regarding the costs of life, everyone living in the Summer's house (besides Dawn) needs to contribute to the costs. Period. With 3 incomes (maybe even 4 if Giles stays longer) it should be possible to pay the bills. And I don't see why Tara an Willow didn't get jobs already. Yes, I know they are kind of parenting Dawn, but really, Dawn is 15 years old, not a toddler and until recently they also had the Buffy bot to help with household chores. Even with college, they should both be able to at least work part time.

This was the firstr time I got a little irritated with you Nick - you keep saying that what Buffy is dealing with regarding her finances is just a "normal" part of life - but young girls who die before they have had time to find an income-earning occupation do not normally come back from the dead and have to deal with the family finances. Everybody's acting as though Buffy should be the one responsible for all of these things - and, for reasons completely beyond me, they are acting as though she should just get over this whole coming back from the dead thing so she can, once again, solve all their problems for them - and Willow seems to feel that Buffy should be grateful to her for bringing her back and throwing her into all of the mess. It actually feels as though that's the reason it was important to bring her back - so that Willow can prove how powerful she is and Buffy can take over as the "leader of the pack" and they will no longer be responsible for the grown up stuff... I really don't like everyone in this storyline right now outside of Bufffy, Spike, Dawn, and Giles - everyone else is being a bit boneheaded at the moment.
