Whew, it's done! This audio is the completed series. However, if you just want to download part 2 on its own, I've included it as an attachment to this post~

Part one and a link to the poll you voted on to select this story can be found here.

I hope you like it~!

SPOILER SELUDE THOUGHTS PAST HERE:

The rewrites on this story were insane. Originally, the princess was going to be made from salt, which serves as a kind of arcane powder/magical reagent (hence the fear of rain). The original princess died from illness, but the Royal Necromancers struggled with raising her body, so they tried using a salt golem instead. The Listener was formerly a general for the royal family who went missing while trying to find a cure for the princess's illness. But they were tragically too late~! 😮

The destination they were going to was supposed to be some kind of sacrificial altar or cursed place that the princess intended to purify, but I didn't get that far~

I forced myself to go back to the drawing board and simplify. As much as I love The Legacy of Keres series, I think it got too complicated with past relationships, dead characters, etc. It had a lot of moving parts, and I'm not sure it's ideal for falling asleep with~

I was really drawing a blank when it came to rewrites, which is unusual for me and terrifying. But I remembered an old roleplay character I had a few years ago and got some inspiration from her~! She was a Court Necromancer trained as a politician (though she secretly harbored the desire to be a famous fashion icon) who got involved with a coven of Vampires, mostly because her first instinct was to negotiate with them rather than try and fight. It took some big persuasion checks, but eventually, she was trying to develop synthetic blood to keep the kingdom safe~

Roleplay like that delights me, characters finding whatever advantage they can in a bleak situation~! Ah...~! I think this series came out very cute. And I'm happy the simplicity of the story allowed me to focus more on the emotion rather than stuff like conveying information, character backstory, and world building~

As always, thank you for listening~!

Finally, I got a chance to finish this piece! Suffices to say just about my theories were wrong, but that obviously did make it all for a wonderful story! I thought the actor was a vampire of a different kind, “allergic” to water instead of sunlight, but hey, not complaining. Amazing work as always, Selude!
