We finish episode one with a cliffhanger but not before catching some cringey-ish performances that we were prewarned about. That said, we also talk a lot with chat about MNET's shady editing and tactics while acknowledging that some of these guys might've been targeted of just that.

So BOYS PLANET talk section : I'm glad people pointed out about Mingyu and Doha being signed as actors. Sometimes, company sent their trainees or actors so they can get popularity even if there aren't that good but I'm sure you will love Mingyu and Doha, they are so wholesome and hardworking. Mingyu just signed with Fantagio as actor so I can't wait to see more of him. Also it's kind of funny how MNET always gave MY HOUSE by 2PM to trainees who aren't really trainees, seem like there is a patern ?? In PRODUCE S2, YGKPlus Trainee also did this song (YG Kplus who is a model and actors management company linked to YG) The Chinese Team who did HOT, they also said that HOT was given to them by MNET and also if I remember they said that MNET gave them the chinese translations and they just followed the chinese pronunciation given. So honestly, no wonder it didn't go well, if MNET fucked up in the translation it might have go wrong. I found video of Yangjun the one clapping who was singing in Chinese and boy can sing. It's sad foreigners can't really show their skills they would want to. I get why singing in Korean but I love Chuang 2021 audition for allowing them to sing the song they want in the language they want because it's end up being so different (Hiroto that you will see next episode was in this chinese survival show and Ichika who did SHINE was in it too) For the edited part, yes they put the worse part of the performance or at least not the best . Donggun who did Taemin, I won't lie his vocal aren't the best but he has the potential also however HIS DANCING SKILL are amazing, you should see him dance. Osuke and Yuki did CROWN and it wasn't that bad, especially I really liked Yuki in the performance. The Chinese team I talked about was in this editing, the Beijing team who was originally going to do LOVE SHOT but mnet made them change it to CALL ME BABY so they had the shortest practice time of all the groups. I'm sooo madd especially them only showing the part who aren't good. This team had a lot of chinese trainees who actually were contestants on others survivals. Yugeng, Krystian and Jianyu were in YOUTH WITH YOU 3 and Yechen did IDOL PRODUCER Season 2. Yugeng went really far in YWY, he was know as CRAYON, he was one of my favorite, that's why i'm even more annoyed at MNET, he is so good, Jianyu was know as Dede in YWY. Yechen auditionned in IDOL PRODUCER with Yao MingMing (who was predebut trainee with SEVENTEEN and an ex-member of BLK aka TEAM 15:00 in PEAK TIME) You just watch their performances on the chinese survival and here, it's day and night. They got done sooo dirty This editing part is even funnier when you see how MNET put it together so badly. The team who get criticized suddenly sitting behind the judges the next frame, you can't take it seriously 😂 It's so funny when someone in the chat said Hanbin got 1 vote just for doing Beautiful Beautiful because most of fuses are actually like that. Just cover ONF and you get praised/loved. AIMERS on PEAK TIME during the audition even with a lot of mistakes, they covered UGLY DANCE and got praised by Fuses. Even BDC who also did Beautiful Beautiful talked about the warm response they got from ONF fans, they were thankful. SHINE team are the one who ended up with only 3 members, I actually saw some bad response to this audition on Twitter which is sad when you know the situation they were in. It's even more sad because one of the member who didn't get to perform it was actually a big fan of PENTAGON, his name is Hyo (he was doing Yuto rap part) and a lot of UNIVERSE knew about his love for PENTAGON and they were waiting for him to appear. Yutaka another member who didn't get to perform is someone who did caught my eye at some point. I also can stop thinking how unfair it is because the missing members ended up with 0 stars when we don't even know why they didn't get to perform (if you want the practice with the six member : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odb7dAUKodE) ------------ Since you had a section where you talked about survival show : Honestly, I watched all the KINGDOM/QUEENDOM series and I won't lie to you, in my opinion, RTK and KD were fine. I watched QUEENDOM....MNET definitely went nastier with the girlsgroup. They literally make the girls downvote or say which performance they found « the worse » in front of all the groups, they had a fiel days trying to make them look bad when most of the girls were awkward about this situation and didn't want to do it. Unfortunately, even if most of those girlsgroups are friends, some fans still fell for it, still today WJSN get so much hate which is so sad. Sinb even had to take her phone and write sentence to explain her mood to not get edited. For MIXNINE, the survival show definitely have a lot of good stages to watch. I still remember how they tried to put a competition between boys and girls, that part was …. Also some talked about YG being a creep, I agreeeee, it was so uncomfortable Just to say, people you might see on MIXNINE : M.O.N.T (it was predebut and you will see their other member Narachan who wasn't in PEAK TIME), Papa Bear from GHOST9 appear I think, Doha (XEED) appear with some others ex-contestants of BOYS24 (Sungoh and Rubin from 1TEAM, Jaeyun know before as Alex from 8TURN, Yonghyun, Yongkwon now in THE7), ATEEZ, ONEUS, ACE, you have ex-members of 24K, KNK, I think Zico brother was also here , all ONF. I watched MIXNINE stages but I won't lie since THE UNIT and MIXNINE aired at the same time, I liked watching THE UNIT better also watching THE UNIT was easier since I think the episodes translated are all on Youtube. Also the atmosphere is way better in my opinion. THE UNIT had a concept similar to PEAK TIME which intended to give another chance for idols who have already debuted but failed to gain the spotlight. You might have heard about it since : - Heedo and Byungjoo from TEAM 24:00 went here - Hangyul was also here - Hansol from Newkidd - You also have one CROSS GENE member that was here, BRAVE GIRLS, ONEWE as MAS. --------------- So you talked about wanting to watch BOYS24 so here come the fan I am : Sorry this section might be extra long (always passionate when it's come to BOYS24 since the final group is my ultime group with ONF and i'm still supporting most of the contestants, one of the only survival who got me still supporting everyone ) I want to warn you even if I'm not sure people will vote for BOYS24 since it's less popular then most of the others survival shows especially if you put survivals show like PRODUCE. BOYS24 is a bit messy. I will explain : After the success of PRODUCE 101 season 1, they wanted to do a survival show with boys but they decided to have a change of concept. It's where everything got messy. It's how they explained the concept, they were four stages : - 1ST STAGE : « Excavation » . Audition process, 49 were selected by Mnet as « untreated gemstones ». - 2ND STAGE : « Competition ». The 49 contestants formed a total of seven unit teams, where they would confirm their intense competition. It's where it's get messy because only the competition stage is translated, this is what you will find online as « BOYS24 » but it's not the end of BOYS24, what you will have at the end of this translated part of the show is only an selected UNIT as the MVP team who are awarded 200 million won of investment into their music production and unit activities promotion. However, this is not the FINAL GROUP of the whole survival show - 3RD STAGE « Growth » A process of the birth of a 24-member Boys24, which would be confirmed in the theater. (= they would perform around 260 concerts and some contestants had MVP stages, remember this insane number because I have a lot to unpack about this shit) Another messy thing, they didn't end up being 24 here if I remember but 28 because one of the contestant left due to health reason and they ended up bringing back 5 eliminated contestants I don't remember why. Also, they were a lot of change in the units that you will see on the show if you watch it. This part was not aired so you need to search videos about it on Youtube or Twitter with the korean title of BOYS24 (If needed I would be here to help especially if you need a contestant in particular) - FINAL STAGE : « Evolution » It could be said that they had evolved to become a crystal, and among the contestants , a few select members who had the highest level in all aspects would make their debut as an idol group. This is where you get the FINAL GROUP (that you saw on PEAK TIME but hope you forgot how they look like otherwise you are spoiled) Another messy thing about it, the episode of the SEMI-FINAL and FINAL are on Youtube but unfortunately there are no ENG SUB so I'm not sure you would want to watch them (even if the stages are really good). During the SEMI-FINAL, they created UNIT BLACK which was a temporary group and the Final have the final group announcement. Biggest warning : Be seated and hope you have a strong heart. I remember crying hard during BOYS24 because some part are really hard to watch, MNET are awful and BOYS24 would be a good example of why. When I mention BOYS24, I always describe it as « The worse and cruelest survival show ». It isn't because the contestants are bad, in contrary, I recommend BOYS24 because you can find gem (Doha and Jaemin are good example) and also they have good stages especially during the SEMI-FINAL / FINAL or at the concert. However, why it's the worse and the cruelest? Because of the mistreatment MNET did to those boys, both mentally and physically is just terrible and get me upset every time. You will see how the elimination are made on the show, you might be shocked. Also remember the 260 concerts ? This number is insane, they had no break also some of the members even had to perform multiple shows a week. They didn't care about they were feeling and when a member was just too injured to perform, they would just let another contestant take his place as if it's nothing. It was even worse for the members who ended up on UNIT BLACK since they had to deal with idols schedule too. So a lot of contestants ended up with injuries (one had leg/neck injury and still performed, one had prolonged leg injuries, another ribcage/waist, herniated disc and you can continue), they also had psychological problems because a lot of fakes scandals like for Sungho, he was accused of bullying, the company didn't stand with him, they just made him step out for a whileeven when everything turned out false. It's the fact, the principle and his old teacher had to step up themselve for him. If you watch BOYS24, he is one of the few trainee who is edited to seem like he is a tough guy/arrogant but once you started watching behind you realize he's not like that at all. MNET mistreatment was so terrible that some of them ended up with broken spirit, some totally left the idol world because of the effect of this long survival show and everything MNET put them througout. Some of the popular contestants even begged the fans to stop voting for them. (Doha is one of them) It's the fact it didn't end here since you saw the final group on PEAK TIME. One member directly left a few days after the final announcement, he honestly saved himself, another left because of health problem. Not to add, their company was total ass to them (which is MMO now know as WAKEONE also co-managed with STONE MUSIC). Telling them they spend already too much money on BOYS24, the members ended up having to pay for hair/outfits etc and not even receiving the money they should. Another member, the maknae left after he did PRODUCE X101, he told about how he never received money, how the company blocked him from uploading on social media, it's even harder when you see him writing « we the members competed in the survival program and was able to debut with a group called *****. But it appears that debuting was more of a curse to us  » MNET know how they fucked up because they want to erase BOYS24 and the trainees who participated so badly. If you watch PRODUCE and know BOYS24 contestants, see when an ex-contestant of BOYS24 come what happen, MNET try so hard to erase them. The maknae of the final group went to PRODUCE X101, they never mentionned him as an debuted idol like they did with UP10TION or VICTON members who were here too. They literally at the gut to cut his part in one of the performance. Taedong (OMEGA X member, yes he did BOYS24) in PRODUCE S2 and the maknae of the final group in PRODUCE X101 both during the elimination part did the RISING STAR pose which is BOYS24 theme song as a big fuck That's all I had to warn you about but I would gadly like you to check BOYS24 at least for the contestants because they are amazings and sp talented. Still today, a lot of them are close to each others and you can see them supporting each others . People you might know who appear in the show : Echan and Heechan from DKB, Doha and Jaemin (XEED), idk if you know but Sungho and Rubin from 1TEAM, Jaeyun (8TURN), Junseo (BAE173), Taedong (OMEGA X). There are people like Tak Jingyu who was in FNC’s Neoz School and could have debuted with SF9 or even San who was a former Fantagio Trainee. He was apart of i-teen alongside ASTRO members. Some of contestants turned more on the acting side, at least four of them ended up in the same drama this year (The Heavenly Idol) and some of them met in PEAK TIME (the final group, Heechan/Echan, Junseo and Ryujei from JWIIVER)
