Interesting that Canadian diplomats weren't granted the same exit privileges as their American and Soviet counterparts.

Hate to nit pick but it was not General Mountbatten. It was Admiral Mountbatten.

Man tough break for Hitler on his birthday. But I wouldn’t worry if I was him, his next one will surely be better.

I believe Mountbatten's official rank was Vice Admiral, though he held honorary ranks as Lt General and Air Marshal.

Riddled with Parkinson's disease, patting the cheeks of "men" from infant's army battalion. Highly doped to brave the round the clock artillery fire......Man you have to be a good satirical to see him in better shape on 20.04.1945....

He is himself to blame. So much resources he was given and he didn't utilise it to make foundation of peace and tranquility in china. Now the whole of South East Asia is suffering from his mistakes because his actions has laid the path for mercurial communists to take over a big chunk of politics in this area and thus the peace and tranquility is dependent on those idiots in china. Don't know what they are planning to and whom they are planning to provoke. Dangerous situation. All blame on Chiang
