Great episode ! Great to see Gance's scenes in a nice, crisp, cut btw, nice touch. I can only wonder just what in the hell went through the minds of the troops in those scenes, never mind later when they went back to the lines.

Bauhaus is famous or infamous depending on your point of view. On a visit to Cologne 3 years ago, a tour guide said “Cologne has been destroyed twice. The first time by Allied Bombers and the second time by German architects.” Bauhaus architecture just comes off as soulless blocks of concrete. This style of architecture has been thankfully rejected in many booming cities today particularly in Asia. Tom Wolfe, Jr wrote a great satirical book on this art and architectural movement called From Bauhaus to Our House.
