In this week’s episode we’ll take a closer look at:

The recent allies Britain and The Soviet Union feeling a need to “protect” Iran, and giving them an offer they can’t refuse.

Operation Gauntlet taking the Allies almost all the way to the north pole.

Germany making advances on practically all fronts in The Soviet Union, and in return

Stalin showing that he means business with the “scorched earth” strategy.

The Nazis experiencing some uncomfortable blowback - both internationally and at home - regarding some of their most unsavory projects.

The Iranian flag in the thumbnail is for post 1979 revolution. In 1941, there was a different flag.

This would be a great time to start talking about the Soviet partizans. The Kovpak division and the Belorussian partizan front. Or just do a special on the partizan command in Moscow.

An amazing movie about the Occupation of Belarus by the German forces is a Soviet-era movie called Come and See, which is about a Belarusian teen who joins the partizan movement. It is not a movie for the faint of heart, so viewer discretion is advised.

Can you point out which episodes? The Kovpak division (1st Ukrainian Partizan Division - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydir_Kovpak) was a veritable army behind German lines guided by Moscow (1500 headcount), it deserves a serious mention through the history podcast.
