This weeks episode is the much-anticipated story of the Second Sino-Japanese War. Many historians, especially those who deliberately moved away from western-centric narratives, have argued that this might be a great alternative starting date of World War Two. Whatever the case, it is still a very interesting story about a devastating war with long-ranging effects.

We have included a warning for viewers, because the episode contains quite some graphic images. We had an internal debate about wether or not we should include those, but we kept in line with our vision that history shouldn't be sanitised for the sake of comfort. History has gruesome episodes and the dead are not just numbers. We think everyone should know that.

On a lighter note: our last poll about the new TimeGhost series is concluded. When we finish the Between Two Wars series, we will first make a 5 part series on the Indonesian War of Independence, followed by Suez Crisis (5 ep.) and the Troubles decade by decade (those last two tied). We are already preparing these as we speak, and we're excited to show you the results in a few months.

Thanks for the support!
Cheers,

Joram

1937 marks the beginning of the Second Sino-Japanese War. And wether or not this is the 'actual' starting point of World War Two, it definitely was a devastating conflict which led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands and the displacement of millions.
