Hey all! I hope all of you enjoyed last week double length episode. This week we're back to normal. That really only applies to the length of the episode, because this week is one big mess for the Allies. Although I guess you could say that goes for the Allied side of the war general so far. Anyhow, get over there to check the episode!

Cheers,

Joram

The Allied Clusterf**k in France - WW2 - 039 - May 25 1940

While the massive invasion of the Benelux countries and France was going down last week, things were also developing on the fronts in Norway and China. But this week, the German beast is let loose. After breaking through its cage at Sedan last week, nothing seems strong enough to block its way to the English Channel. And if one thing becomes clear, it is that the Allied command structure and the way they communicate is one big smoking mess.. fantastic episode: great choice with the side panel animations showing Weygand and the Allied confusion. Nicely paced, good writing.

Love the article, but please... for the love of all that's holy, have Indy watch a mandarin pronunciation guide. Zh is a j sound. "X" is a soft "sh" sound. A single "a" in the middle of a word is more of a short o sound. Q is a "ch" sound. It gets weird in this period because many names in Chinese were recorded using transliterations of their Cantonese pronunciations. (Chiang Kai Shek for example, is actually "Jiang Jie Shi" in mandarin)

Excellent as always

Unit Symbols - I've done enough wargaming in my youth to know most of the symbols used to designate the kind of unit - though I've never seen a single vertical bar before. Would you do a quick little segment on what the different unit symbols represent?

Wikipedia has the symbols explained in details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_Joint_Military_Symbology This is the modern version, so there are minor differences with the WW2 era, but it is close enough.
