Hey all!! I'm happy to present episode 025 (time flies huh?) of World War Two. After more than two months of fighting, the Soviets throw everything they can at the Finns to force a breakthrough. There are 14 maps in here, made by eastory. Indy refers to his channel at the end of the video and I highly reccomend checking out his content, it's really good!

Cheers,

Joram

Finland’s Desperate Fight - WW2 - 025 - February 16 1940

After more than a week of preliminary bombardmends and attacks, the Red Army finally attacks the Finnish defensive positions on the Karelian Isthmus en masse. They throw thousands of troops at the Finns at the entire width of their lines, even exceeding them. The Finns defend the best as they can, but their winning streak seems to come to an end. the story of the Graf Spee/Altmark always seemed like the basis for a great movie to me. the Sea battle outside Montevideo, the scuttling of the Graf Spee, the heroic return of cruiser squadron, the dicey rescue of the British sailors in Norwegian waters....Great maps today too, thanks gang!

My Granddad served on HMS Ark Royal during the war. Loving the series! Keep up the good work!

Getting better and better :) Do you think it would be possible to also spend some minutes touching the evolving political situation in the rest of Europe ('39/'40)? I am referring especially to the Low Countries, Baltic States, as well as C/SE/E Europe?
