The Copyrighted Popeyes (Patreon)

In case you didn’t know, most of the B&W Fleischer ‘Popeye’ cartoons are owned by Warner Brothers and the only known source material to these are kept under their control. If we were to find prints of the copyrighted Popeyes in the wild, we would still need to get their clearance to screen them in public.

Turns out we have access to a nice batch of 35mm safety negatives that we can scan via a private collector. This means that we can offer fans brand new 4K scans of ‘Popeye’ Fleischer shorts.
