In s4 finale Discord learned there was nothing more important than friendship. So being jealous and possessive over his best friend possibly being taken, I agree is pretty good progression as a character. He does care about friendship more now and wants to be better. Which can now be seen in this episode even with his still ... rough edges, feeling pretty much immediate remorse once he gets what he's doing wrong. In genuinely learning a lesson this ep not pretending to have like glass of water and taking it to heart.

Pinkie isn't the only one who makes that "squee" sound. One example of that is Twilight making it after she escapes the hydra in season 1 episode 15. In episode 8, this was a reference to a greek myth. boreus was the god of the north wind, and the creature who stole the idol was based on a race of creatures who would battle griffins for their gold.
