I mean, I guess when you're in space, any side of the ship not facing the nearest nuclear furnace is automatically the "night" side. Come to think of it, it probably messes with the normal day/night cycle a lot when you aren't in geosynchronous orbit with a planet. I mean, with outside-facing windows, if you're orbiting a planet faster than it's rotation  -or orbiting one with a really fast day/night cycle, synchronous or not- it's GOTTA mess with you.
