The production committee responsible for the anime actually buys the timeslot for the show from the television network, so the production committee usually chooses what ads to run and receives the profit for doing so. Re Zero's production committee actually chose to forgo running advertisements in it's timeslot, to instead allow these 27-29 minute episodes. Essentially, they sacrificed the ad revenue they would have received to ensure that the season could be the best it could be.

Subaru and Emilia's fight is really fun to watch, it's messy and confusing and feels right, and despite being easy to tell who Subaru has learned from, everything that comes out of his mouth is still awkward as it should be. I'd like to say I was as excited for Otto's half of the episode as you were, but I'm really not a fan of squeezing in a side character's entire backstory like that

HEY GUYS OMG I WAITED SO LONG FOR YOU TO SEE THIS EPISODE, Ana's reaction to the kiss was all I hoped it would be and Ben you now can understand why I have Best Bro Otto as my avatar! So Like always, few tips for alignment and lore: The Studio bought out the commercial slots in order to give us the extra time to really tell the story. Otto was accused of sleeping with the Head of the town's daughter (she lies!) due to this, Otto detective'd his way (using his divine gift) with all the animals in town to discover that she was actually a bit of a free spirit and had slept with multiple guys (7) while with her current suitor. Subaru and Emilia's Voice Actors had to record the later have several times because they got carried away during the heated moments due to the emotions and actually started arguing / yelling at one another. It was so heated at one point that .... This is all made up, but they did their job so well that you'd almost believe it was true! Here is some QA about Otto from Tappei: Q: Otto's memory of his first crush? A: Otto's blessing means he can speak with basically anything, so he doesn't strictly need to limit his romance targets to humans. There was a time where he had a thing going for a friendly, personable cat (Cute White Cat) , but the cat didn't see him as a romantic partner and thus Otto was ruined when Mr StealYoCatnip showed up. But not actually. Q: Otto's experiences with relationships? A: His first relationship was him being rebuffed by a cat. As for human relations: he's the second son of a merchant family which means he has decent manners, he looks reasonably attractive and he's smart, so you think he'd do well HOWEVER he is absent of luck and thus No. Q: What kind of vibe/mood were you thinking of when you came up with Otto? A: No clue. The birth of a character is always something dramatic. When the story got onto the track of 'there's this guy hurting for money who I think'll accept your request, even if it's one that usually wouldn't get accepted. Wanna try talking to him?' and I wrote a character who felt like they'd accept Subaru's request, it was Otto. Q: What are Otto's favorite foods?! A: Spicy ones! He can eat habaneros and look totally fine! If he was in our world, he'd want to try challenging death sauce! Q: Will Otto be saved? A: He's been saved. Otto has been saved from almost being killed by Witch Cult back when restrained in a cave in Arc 3. And so he's in Emilia's faction now. Q: Assuming that Otto and Subaru's friendship meter caps at 100%, where is their friendship level sitting as of the current update? A: 100%. His named chapter settled it. Q: What's the origin behind Otto's name? A: It's "Oops, I messed up!". Suwen was whimsy. *oops = ottotto in nip Q: WHY ISN'T OTTO SUBARU'S LAWFULLY WEDDED WIFE? A: CAUSE HE'S A GUY!!!! Q: Is Otto's family around? A: Otto's parents, elder brother, and younger brother all have their own homes. Then I suppose there's Frufoo, the ground dragon who's like family. They're close. Q: Tell me about Otto's older brother. A: He's Osrow Suwen (オスロー). He's the representative of the Swein's firm, and although young possesses a toughness which suits well to his hair. He worries about Otto, but figures that things will sort out for him and so keeps his hands off. And things did sort out for him, so he is truly wise, wise. Q: Are you planning on writing an Otto short story compilation? A: A short story where Otto's the main character is one thing, but a book of short stories about Otto sounds like a drag... If it's featuring Subaru and co like usual I'll probably just write the story from Subaru's POV, not Otto's. Q: How big is the range on Otto's blessing? Does it work on all organic entities? A: 'Organic entities' is a terrifying way to phrase that. I'd say it's basically anything within range that Otto can distinguish it as being something living, and works on creatures with voice/sound-producing organs. It doesn't feel like, say, microbes would be smart enough for speech, so I guess they'd be out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ram in the past apparently always had the ability to overpower Garfiel, Be it his beast form or not, Because Ram is actually quite strong. Usually before overdoing her demon "magic" usage (that causes her hole where horn was to throb) . In case you haven't figured it out, Garfiel speaks in idioms, the ongoing joke is that Subaru isn't familiar (and neither are we) with them. So they go over our head a lot of times. Garfiel reads a lot of books and likes randomly using idioms and quotes he picked up and thinks are cool. After all, "Sacred swordsman Reid laughs before the dragons."

Another aspect to understand about divine protections is that each is only granted once at a time. So, it isolates even more because there is no one that can relate to your specific case, even if you would find another holder of a divine protection.

Subaru's chad energy is off the charts at the end of this season. "If you don't want this, then dodge." and then pausing to make sure Emilia actually wanted to kiss him. The character growth is amazing.

props to u guys who understands the stuff happens and never really blames any characters (subaru in particular) for whats happening, but to feel alongside these characters as it progress. belive me, you wont know how painfull to me watching other reactors didnt understand stuff and kept blaming characters even the story doesnt unfold yet, (subaru is the main target)
