This episode gave me anxiety just by the way they portrayed Rudeus fear through the facial animation and voice acting. Top tier stuff, with no action and almost entirely taking place in one room, this is one of the most captivating episodes in all of Mushoku Tensei.

Anime/Manga only. Maybe the difference in timing could have to do with what was being summoned. For Rudy all that was being summoned was his soul. With Nanahoshi and perhaps the friend, it was their entire being body and soul being transported. Maybe that changed how fast they could be moved from their original world to this one and might be the reason for the time difference. One more weird thing I just noticed is after the accident, the two teens were already gone, but Rudy was still in Japan dying. He didn't end up in the other world for another 30 minutes or so as he slowly died from his injuries. Though he was hearing Zeniths cries as he was fading in and out.

This is a theory because I'm no LN reader, but it make sense that Nanahoshi wears a mask because she is Japanese and her face is totally diferent from the people of this world. In the anime we don't see the difference but it could be one of the reasons. About the other person that is missing, Rudeus came to this world 10 years before Nanahoshi. Could that guy came before in time?. Also he may not arribed yet.
