Whenever I re-watch this episode, I always wonder if the reason Emilia's crying is due to the fact that she had to kill someone, or if it has to do with something in Season 2. When I get to this spot in the LNs, maybe it will clear it up more.

I love how Petelgeuse's possession of Subaru epitomizes his role as a twisted parallel of Subaru, with his idealization of Satella like Subaru's of Emilia. Subaru is essentially fighting his own toxic, obsessive side by fighting Petelgeuse lol
