Interesting to point out, now that it's been acknowledged that Kurisu was known as the 'Mother of the Time Machine' in the future, that you both already picked up on in previous reactions how Kurisu had shown almost a motherly instinct and pride towards her invention of the Time Leap Machine. How her first reaction and tendency was to deny that the invention could be the causation for Mayuri's death, definitely not her baby's fault.

YUS, now we just need Oshi no Ko and my week will be complete

Forrial

I need more, what happens with Suzuha next episodes is so sad.

Jay Craig

Why are you talking about things happening in future episodes? Use your head

Joshua

And here it is! I'm sure glad you guys went with sub, just for the legendary sunavabitch scene

HMMH

If/when you both re-watch Steins;gate again, give the English dub a try. Some fans would agree (myself included) that the English cast hired for the dub version did a great job on the acting. Great insight into how all the lab members are dealing with the gravity of the situation while still essentially being teenagers and trying to cope with their predicament.

This is some jackassery right here, lol. It's a good thing they don't read comments.

Glad that you two are enjoying this! I wish you two could binge-watch it, but I love seeing the reaction from people watching it for the first time!

I think they already showed why Kurisu works with SERN in this world line. Moeka actually told her crew to get Okabe, Kurisu and Itaru alive. I think it is hinted that she does end up working with SERN, but most likely as a hostage. I'm guessing Okabe escapes somehow due to his whole time leaping fiasco and he remains on the outside establishing a terrorist group.

Interesting, I have another take on this. My take is that Kurisu never actually works for SERN in the future. Moeka told her crew to get Okabe, Kurisu, Daru AND the time leap machine. And here, Suzuha says that in the future, Kurisu is held as "the mother of time travel" and that SERN was only able to develop time travel because of the creation of the time leap machine. But I think that this is the only things that Suzuha knows for a fact, Suzuha just assumes from that that Kurisu will work for SERN, but there's no confirmation of that. I think that Kurisu won't do more for SERN, just inventing the time leap machine in 2010 is enough for her to be "the mother of time travel".

There was some defensiveness to her reaction, sure, but I wouldn't call it denial or her thinking "<i>definitively</i> not her baby's fault". Okabe was the one to jump to conclusions here, she was more "maybe it is but maybe it's not, and if it isn't and we destroy it, we can't stop Mayuri's death anymore so don't do anything rash". It was also a very scientific reaction.

Yea, Suzuha's information about this is really not too reliable. Only thing that led me to my theory is that, if Kurisu was in fact not working for SERN, you'd atleast assume that the future Okabe (who started the revolution against SERN) would've made it known that Kurisu isn't an enemy. Slight spoiler for Steins Gate Zero:... I think we can just speculate on what happened in this timeline since I don't think we ever get to see it (If I remember correctly) Let's just assume this is the worst timeline there is where everyone literally died before making any difference. But arguably this timeline's lab members were in fact the catalysts which eventually led to the best time line. Pretty interesting.

Dubs always inferior, especially when the anime is set inside Japan itself.

Joshua

But you can't argue that watching dub in a rewatch is a good idea. Since the dub itself is one of the best dubs there is.
