The reason Daru didn't react much to Mayuri saying she's going to buy a doujinshi is because while "doujinshi" to many of us just refers to the holy texts, it actually just refers to any independent manga or other text without a publisher. A lot of the time they're kinda like fanfics of existing media but they're quite big in japan
