Awesome, I've seen this episode dozens and dozens of times but watching it with you guys again was just as tense as the first time. Welcome back!

Eren and Reiner’s dialogue in this episode is maybe the most important dialogue in the entire show.

AJ N

Looking forward to seeing your attitude towards Eren continue to evolve, haha.

Jacob Park

I think they should know that Eren cannot use the founding titan power now.

Anders Pike

"It feels so good to root for him" feels really weird after the last thing you see him do in this episode is murder dozens of civilians including children and potentially falco just with his transformation alone.

Joshua

I'm sure it'll hit them next episode when they make it even clearer

Adam Adamowicz

Eren did nothing wrong. Anna is right. It's the world's responsibility to reach out to Paradis for peace conditions, knowing they have an armageddon button at their disposal. It's not Eren's fault for pressing it when they not only failed to do that, but announced publically a genocidal war against all of the button-holder's friends, family and his entire race. AoT world deserves what's coming.

Phthalo

Ah, yes. Because the children in the building Eren just destroyed are obviously responsible for Willys declaration of war and deserve to die. I personally can't justify pressing the button, especially since the entire world is at stake. I can understand why you would do it, but I definitely can't say it's right.

When this season was airing we had to wait two weeks for this episode, so really you were just having the full immersive experience

Yo

been waiting for you guys to react to this episode, did not disappoint 🔥🔥🔥

The point of the show is nothing is that black and white. There’s questionable morality on both sides, but Eren’s attack is in far more justified grey zone. 5 minutes ago they were getting slaughtered by the hundreds of thousands, without having a clue why, when all they were doing was minding their business. Eren’s strike in Liberiomight seem equally bad or worse, if you have a smooth brain and are incapable of nuanced thinking, but Marley deserves it in a way that Paradis never did. So at least within the grey area, yes it’s sensible to support Eren.

Tim Zaum

I love everything about this episode so much!

hman70

No, my dude, it's you who aren't getting it. nobody "deserves" this, "nuanced thinking" isn't finding justifications for mass murder when it suits your political goals. The entire point of Eren's speech is in this episode is that he's admitting that he's worse. Unlike Reiner, Eren knows that the people that he's about to kill are perfectly innocent and do not deserve to die, but he is going to kill them anyway--to serve his own goals.

Quella

This conversation is more like eren is confirming whether he has a choice, eren asks Reiner if Reiner also has no choice, and Reiner says that he has a choice, but he chose to kick the wall, so eren said again: We are really the same. Because at this point Eren wanted to start this war, because they were born to be themselves

Zyrus

@Ravor Rants If that's your take, I guess defending yourself against unreasonable enemies is 'bad'. Fuck that logic.

Shinka

What Reiner sought from Eren wasn't forgiveness. He didn't want to be forgiven, he wanted to be judged. He wanted Eren to be mad at him, to blame him for everything. What Eren did by saying he understand why he did what he did actually messed him up even more, and it looked like Eren knew what his words did to Reiner. In way, this is his way to get back to him.
