This episode King of Rebellion and next one Two Paths are by far my favourite episodes when I'm rewatching them again and again. Seeing Thorfinn tank so many punches and hearing his scream really gave me goosebumps and reminds me of old Thorfinn with his angry screams. Such an impact. Btw, Canute trying to stop the incoming tide was actually recorded in the 12th century as an apocryphal anecdote. Yet for different reason since he wants to rebel against god while in real life he did for different reason: "Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings, for there is none worthy of the name, but He whom heaven, earth, and sea obey by eternal laws.'" He then hung his gold crown on a crucifix, and never wore it again "to the honour of God the almighty King"
