According to Boom, he played it years ago but only played like an hour of it before putting it down. He’s giving it a second chance and from what I can tell, he’s giving it an honest shot. Hope this helps.

If he wasn't interested in the game he wouldn't be playing this. No reason to assume the worst in someone when they've given no reason for that assumption. Also remember if you're not into something you are able to just not watch that thing
