Something to keep in mind as you watch Korra is that Nickelodeon strung them along, and they never knew if they were getting another season.

That's true up until Book 3 & 4. They knew they were getting another season when they finished 3.

Korra is amazing. Something to keep in mind is that some of the people complaining about Korra wouldn't be upset about her characterization if she were male.

While I’m sure you’re right about the „some of the people complaining“ her character traits that are annoying have nothing to do with her being female imo. Either way I like korra most of the time

I'll say it as many times as possible- ATLA is the Heroes Journey, Korra is the journey of self actualization or journey of the self. Very different from each other.
