I recommend Kubo And The 2 Strings. You guys really don't have to do multiple movies a week. We get that stuff has been going on. We can wait

Izu

Ninja Assassin next?

Samantha Bailey

There is a Victor Square in every district. There would be no way for them to walk Gale from the square of District 12 to the Capital. We have been on the train that travels through each district which takes days even with how fast it moves.

Man, it's been so long since I watched the movies since I think I only watched them once in theaters right when they came out, so there's only a few things I remember. I thought this movie might show something but maybe it's in the next movie, so I'll have to see. I forget what the general consensus was for the plan of them destroying the arena, but yeah I'm guessing everyone wanted Katniss to be the one to destroy it based on giving hints throughout the movie. And I guess the game master since he was in on the plan may have just been trying to 'keep Katniss and Pita safe', since he was in control of the games as opposed to an alternative fight that could have happened with them outside the games. But had to make it convincing enough to Snow that it was real so he wouldn't be targeted. Since at least so far, it seems like mostly every obstacle in the arena has either a way to be avoided, or a way to recover from certain injuries, which likely is all planned out. But yeah I don't remember the 3rd movie really at all, so curious to see where it goes, and I guess the 4th after. But the prologue movie seems the most interesting right now, tbh. Almost enough for me to not want to watch the last 2, but I would want some good conclusion.

iron pirate76

you guys should react to either the cornetto trilogy or the kingsman trilogy

TrixieTurner

The quarter quell is different every time, this was the third one but this time they just used it as an excuse to kill Katniss.

Emperor Belos

Kingsman kingsman kingsman. Y’all would long kingsman it’s too fking good

_Owwls_

There’s a reason bout his drink turning red tho I can’t remember if it’s a spoiler. ⁉️SPOILERS⁉️ Snow has bleeding sores on the inside of his mouth, a result of drinking poison in order to trick his enemies into doing the same.

Obsidianfox

definetly agreeing with the hype for Kingsmen in the comments.

What's wrong with green is green is not a creative color

24:10 Ruff: "They aren't going to throw her back in the hunger games... I think..."

Nicholas Vancil

Its interesting that you guys say that the first one doesn't really belong with the second. They actually have different directors

Aspy 130

My one thing with this series is trying to decide whether I think characters are too on the nose sometimes or if it’s done on purpose in those moments like a political cartoon type situation

Helily

When Finnick reminded Katniss, "remember who the real enemy is" and she freaking aimed an arrow at the dome but the camera caught it so she was aiming it directly at snow. Uuuuugh amazing....no wonder this movies is the best in the series

Keegan Walther

mentioning Reacher, would be great to see you all react to

Bath Time Toaster

If I remember right the 50th hunger games they had double tributes so 4 kids from every district

Kelly Melvin

The last two are actually pretty good, even though that may be an unpopular opinion. I think both are better than the first movie. The last movie is my second favorite of the franchise.

Despite the ratings and some hate it gets, (it honestly doesn't get a bunch of hate, it's just looked down on compared to the first two movies) the Mockingjay movies are actually good and I think you guys will like them. I love seeing the war side of everything. I think both are better than the first movie, although that's probably an unpopular opinion lol

DizzIsLiving

I think the mocking Jay movies are great. Some people say part 1 doesn't have enough action but I love the politics in it and the action it has is really good

There's a victor village for each district. District 12 only has 3 living victors so most of it is empty. In other districts, like 1, 2 and 4 where there are more victors they are more lively- and likely bigger and higher quality. Also a lot of the Peacekeepers are raised and trained in District 2, where they are bred to hate the outlying districts, and see themselves as "above them" since they effectively get special treatment from the capitol. I don't know if this is the case for the guy who whips Gail, but he doesn't really give capitol vibes (accent etc.) if anything he reminds me of Cato, and it wouldn't surprise me if a guy from District 2 would hate District 12 after what Katniss and Peeta did to Cato. Also they do have doctors in 12, and an upperclass. Katniss' mom is a doctor, hence the equipment and why Gale was brought to Katniss' house. Other upperclass people are like Peeta's family, who always had more food to go around. They want people to function within society enough to stay alive and want to live in order to produce for the capitol, hence access to alcohol and living necessities etc. The kids are entered once for every year they've been in a reaping. And then they can take tesserae which gives them a year's supply of grain for their family for an additional entry. However the tesserae is based on the number of the base entry. Meaning a 12 year old who takes 3 lots of tesserae is entered 4 times, but an 18 year old who takes 3 lots of tesserae is entered 7 x 1 + 7 x 3 times so 28 times. This means the lower class you are you are actually dozens times more likely to be picked, meaning again, it all comes down to class again, allowing many of the rich to not even necessarily hate the capitol as much. Haymitch won his games during the 2nd quarter quell, and in that one there was double the tributes, meaning 47 died and he lived. Haymitch actually also outsmarted the gamemakers like Katniss- and used a forcefield at the edge of the map to deflect an axe thrown by another tribute- hitting them in the head and winning him the games. His family was killed for it, and he only lived to prevent things like rebellion- as he was quite well loved by the capitol too. Joanna's family were also killed as she refused to sell her body to the capitol (something Snow made attractive victors do upon winning... Sadly I believe Finnick was sold into prostitution when he won his games at like 14...) Also another thing to explain is that the rest of the world seemingly doesn't exist anymore or Panem has made itself isolated via technology as another theory. The only living semblance of the world is the US/Canada which became the 13 Districts and the Capitol. The landmass is much smaller due to rising sea levels. A war happened, 13 was "destroyed" and the rest of the districts were forced to partake in the games. The capitol wasn't always so met-gala esque in obscure fashion, it used to be a little more nazi/roman inspired hence Panem which I believe means "Bread and Circuses" in Latin. I believe the highfashion became a newer trend in recent decades as the Capitol was actually still quite poor for the first decade or so of games, and they were much lower budget during their war recoveries. Anyway, as an avid book fan thought these details would be cool to know.

Also Beetee and Plutarch designed the arena to have lightning be accessible to destroy the arena. All of this was planned before the games with half the tributes and District 13. In the books they kept recieving bread rolls of different quantitites from "sponsors" that didn't always make sense, like there'd be 5 of them and they'd get 13 rolls for example, even though that number isn't evenly distrubituable. This was a code for when things would happen. Beetee was meant to have a spear ready to destroy the arena but I guess he hit it too early, or tried placing it next to the forcefield to set off the reaction and placed it too close. And Katniss realised that Beetee was trying to destroy it and in the moment did it for him. A lot of these details were missed in the movies, but in the books too Plutarch when meeting Katniss for the first time shows him his watch. It feels like a little strange to Katniss in the moment, but it was actually him subtley telling her about the arena being a clock. Also one last detail- the camera in the cinematic release changes to a full screen as Katniss comes up from the chamber after Cinna is killed. It's meant to show the games beginning. I hate that all the streaming services don't include this. The full shot cuts off when Katniss wakes up in the airshuttle.
