Too short to ride is one of my favourite Peri episodes and it's why I relate to her so strongly. I spent a lot of time in my youth really self conscious and insecure about how hard it was for me to do things that seemed natural to everybody else around me. I found things I was comfortable with and clung to them, until I found that what's easy for most people might not be easy for me, but I can also do things that most people can't! 🥹💚

When this episode was releasing, they really did make an actual twitter account for Peridot! they released tweets relating to episodes coming out, as well as the "Cheeps" she made in the episode. I don't recommend finding it, since I'm pretty sure there are some spoilers, but it was a really fun experience when the show was airing!

The New Lars is a disliked episode, because many feel Steven was a bit too careless and more like his pre-character development self, but I give massive props for keeping Lars' voice while Steven is possessing him (many cartoons would have just made Steven's voice come out of him, either out of laziness or because they feared the kids would be confused otherwise.) Matthew Moy did a great job coming across like a different person (Steven.)

Just look at how much the Sadie x Lars ship is being developed here, It is truly one of the most compelling sides of the show that doesn't have to do with Gem Stuff. This is also one of the reasons why Season 3 is considered by many (including me) the Best season of the show, it striked a very nice balance between Gem-related plot, Main Character Development and a reasonable amount of screentime dedicated to the inhabitants of Beach City.

I like being billy because it makes all of us (the viewers) like a single unified entity. when you refer to us it’s like you’re talking to a hivemind but also me specifically. plus I think the origins of billy is just really funny

I remember when the Lars episode came out there was a theory floating around that Lars could possibly be trans based mostly on how Lars’s parents keep slipping up in the episode and calling him the wrong name and some other things. This is never officially confirmed but Lars does canonically have a lot of issues with how he thinks people perceive him and acts in a way that he thinks will get him approval from his peers.

The way the episode portrays the cool kids reaction to Lars is weird since he’s show to be a suck up to them but they act like he’s just constantly saying mean shit to them.
