Actually I think they make the one year joke because the abridged namek saga had been going for a whole year which at that time was quite a long time.

GT wasn't great but Super Saiyan 4 was Clean, easily the best transformation.

just a little behind the scenes thing, they did want to finish it up to the last arc of z but they were running into issues with copyright left and right and the amount of sheer time it was taking to sync up characters lips to their custom dialouge and everything they were just mentally drained on the project

Also they realized that things like buu’s dialogue is already basically an abridged joke so they were running into dead ends for those characters espacally kid buu

Original DB would be nice, though it is obviously very different from DBZA. TFS experimented with alternate ways of doing Buu, including 100% original Animation. With DBZA over they made a couple of "Dragonshortz", mostly to create necessary models for it, but by then they already hit a brick wall with adapting the next movie and were just burned out, so even with that continuing wasn't in the cards. They DO continue their story though...their new HFIL-Series is a direct continuation for a group of characters, with original story lines. And it's GOOD!

im assuming they didnt start it this week cause of the issues Ruff had on way home from spending time with his GFs family, based on the schedule they sent out earlier they still plan to do it but just might be a week behind on which episode theyre posting for duration of the season or maybe we get a double this coming week
