Kay M

omg so glad you guys watched this!! I remember back when I saw this in theaters along with the 2 sequels. Such a great movie series. Can't wait to see you watch the sequels next!!

Pickle

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss

Kayla Ryan

Sweet, can't wait for you guys to do the sequels! If you thought the animation was beautiful in the first movie, the animation just gets better in the sequels. There are no post credits scenes in the sequels but it would be worth watching the credits on the third movie. Also as of now there is no HTTYD 4 planned, what you saw that was releasing in 2025 is the live action adaptation of the first movie (which I'm not going to judge until we get a trailer). Also that dragon you saw in the fog in that scene wasn't the big dragon they fought, it was just another Monstrous Nightmare. Again can't wait for the sequels and hopefully H-Man will be able to join!

ANIMEMUSE

The should watch the tv shows ( besides the nine realms) that are apart of this series as they are very good as well. (And have quite a few of the voice actor

Jase Conklin

This is a dream come true

Thijs

Jose Perez

YEESSSSS I'm sure yall will love the trilogy

Masked Magician

Yess Sweet! also may I recommend Everything Everywhere All At Once

Sincerely, the Best.

everything everywhere all at once!! its a great movie and i cant even describe how much fun itll be

Rez

This is why I have gold tier, because of the movie reactions. I loved this movie and I hope ya'll will too. I have so much more movie recommendations for ya'll to watch as well. Also, I hope H-Man gets better!!!!

Jase Conklin

I think you guys would enjoy the spiderwick chronicles, it’s a movie that brought about a lot of my creative personality

Wulves Gaming

The tv shows and the sequels would be an amazing reaction series to do!

DementisXYZ

Yall keep saying "this looks so good for 2010," but I'd like to remind everyone...Toy Story 3 was in 2010. Does it hurt to think about? Absolutely, but that's where the animation was at at the time. I look forward to the sequel reaction. If yall want another great animated movie to react to, maybe while you wait for Hman to get better (hope he's OK, btw), I highly recommend Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.

Thijs

also guys coraline is a great movie

Jose Perez

They would need to watch them before the second movie right? For the timeline sake. But otherwise nothing is really missed right?

Emperor Belos

I wanna see y’all watch Mitchells versus the machines

Wheelmagic

The Stupids (1996), The Mitchells vs. the Machines (2021),Horton Hears a Who!(2008)

Wheelmagic

Hotel transelvania

TacticalFox31

I would 100% recommend the Netflix Original How to Train your Dragon series. I know a lot of the time Netflix screws up doing a spin off series, but they nailed this one. Really adds depth to the world, I think it has all the same voice actors. And it ties in with the story, so you would want to watch it before movie 2.

Rez

How about The Incredibles 1 and 2. They were both amazing movies, and I would loveee for ya'll to react to them if ya'll haven't already.

Circuitdoodles

Fun fact the way toothless moves around was actually based off a cat. The movie does a really good job of making dragons seem like real animals that could exist.

ThePugProtector

I the 2 series that are connected to the movies are fully canon by the way and so worth it, because it gives so much extra information about the dragons and I would absolutely recommend it!

Kirito Otonashi

yes its so good everytime a reaction channel watches how to train your dragon movies i wish they would also watch the series as its just so good

Anonymous

YESSSS i love you guys plssss more how to train your dragon

Poet

If you guys need a new show to watch After owl house is over I recommend riders of berk since it will dive more into how to train your dragon universe in order it's. Riders of berk Defenders of berk Race to the edge

iron pirate76

you guys should react to MEGAMIND and the JOHN WICK trilogy(4th one is nearly out)

Kyrmsunn

Bad guys is one I liked a lot

Steven

Check out the gift of the night fury, it's a short film that brings in a small but essential context clue for the third film and you can watch it before the second one. Here's the link: https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/details/How-to-Train-Your-Dragon-Legends/399535.

Esteban Garcia maldonado

The reason he lost his leg it’s bc toothless had to grab hiccup and his arms are too short so he used his mouth and if he bit him a little too hard by accident

Anonymous

Have u guys seen Iron Giant? that would BE A BANGER to watch

Honey

It's so stinkin sweet that Hiccup helped Toothless adapt to losing an important limb and get used to his mobility aid, and Toothless imminently did the same for Hiccup when he needed to.

Matt R

i was gonna say, it always gave me way more of a cat vibe then a dog

Matt R

I love how many movies we're getting on gold tier, you guys are one of the only patreon's I've seen who clearly care a lot about they're audience and constantly doing as much as possible to listen to us. However, about the movie, i do think you guys are being a little to hard on stoic (Hiccup's dad). They're entire lives since they're born they're taught that dragons come, steal and kill, which is all very true. As well, from the start we're told hiccup says he's caught dragons plenty of times before and he's always mistaken, he doesn't seem the sameas everyone else and he doesn't think the same as them; I can't blame him for not trusting hiccup's judgement, especially after he just lied about his training and seeing a dragon for weeks! Not saying Stoic isn't to fault to but you have to see it from his perspective. He's trying to not only free his people from the hardships and death caused by the dragons seemingly random and spiteful attacks, but also all the generations that come after them, including his son.

Matt R

also, please watch megamind!

Anonymous

The scene where toothless is leaning toward hiccups hand the first time, you see him hesitate - that is actually an error/glitch and wasn't supposed to happen, but it fit and looked so well they kept it in!

Cole

After watching the movie countless time over the years I just understood why trolls only steal your left socks and it's because he has a peg leg 😅😅🤣

knuxchux

if you’re gonna watch this, you may as well watch Megaming, the other Dreamworks masterpiece from 2010

Petrichor

I recommend Rogue One and Megamind!

Plop Plop

Pls react to transformers

Sydney Horton

I know I'm late to this, but Please Please PLEASE Watch the How to Train Your Dragon mini movie "Gift of the Night Fury".

Sydney Horton

Please tell me that they're going to react to the How to Train Your Dragon TV series. It's in 3 parts. "Riders", "Defenders", and "Race to the Edge". All of which happen before the second movie. Even if you watch it them after the sequel, it's still awsome. It goes heavy into all the lore you saw in the "Kill on Site" book that Hiccup was reading.

"despicable me plss"

Lauryn Case

This is a newer movie but I would definitely watch “Ron’s gone wrong” it’s pretty funny and has a good story line

Harley Taylor

Those shows are so amazing! If they do watch the shows they need to do it in the order you listed. You get to see the riders become a team, the changes Berk has to make, and the riders learning more about their dragons and the dragons around them! It's all AMAZING. This entire franchise is easily my all time favorite. Like for me I love this as much as I love One Piece. And the shows add so much extra depth.

Harley Taylor

Technically you can watch the films without the shows and not miss anything besides some world building and character development.

Laura D

The animator stated he based a lot of the movements of toothless more after his own cat, hence the purring, retractable teeth (think cat claws), the shoulder wiggles, cat grass, slit eyes, etc. but yeah, cats or dogs, you guys are absolutely correct that the dragons were modeled after pets.

Justin Moore

The TV show that this movie has is pretty good fyi. Don't remember alot of it since I watched them years ago.

Juan Carlos Jaimes Jr.

I don't know if yall will see this but some DW movies you should see are: * The Prince of Egypt - Great music/story/animation, Not pushy on religious beliefs * The Road to el Dorado - I prefer the Spanish version. But funny comedy(adult humor), good animation, fun songs, fun adventure * Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron - Great horse animation, songs great, touching story, and emotional journey * Sinbad Legend of the seven seas - Epic action adventure, animation rough at times but fun and cool villain/powers. * Megamind - good animation, fun comedy, and crazy twist * Rise of the Guardians - a good villain, fun animation, and adventure action story All of these are underrated in my opinion, especially the 2D ones but definitely worth a watch.

Lipaz

My guess is that Hiccup's leg didn't burn; if you look carefully, both him and Toothless fall right into the flames of the Red Death. I think that while trting to catch him, Toothless bit to the first part he could of Hiccup- his leg, and the injury was too severe. It makes sense if by accident, the dragon made Hiccup lose his leg, just like his human did at the beginning.

Priddy Woman

You guys should watch the show for this. it is things that happen between movie 1 and 2
