There was actually a deleted scene from this episode where we see the petrified parents being wheeled into a truck by the police or plumbers, so presumably they are still alive.

Have you guys stopped using the Streamable links? For some reason the base patreon video buffers really bad for me, I have to pause and let it buffer every 2 mins, and unfortunately it doesnt ever let it buffer the entire video, only a few minutes ahead, its really annoying.

It’s because of the different tiers they upload on. The gold tier got S4 E4/5 today, while silver got S3E6 today. It does get a bit weird because they all go up at the same time, I wish Patreon had a better system for these things.

Actually correction, Silver got the season 4 episodes today while another lower tier got the season 3 episodes.

As far as I know, theres no specific reason for the kids to be with Max and not their parents. It was just supposed to be a classic "hey, why not spend the summer with your grandfather" type of thing, before all the Alien stuff happened.

I assume it was re-added in a dvd release. According to the wiki the scene was cut from the broadcast version due to time restraints. I know some other episodes have cut scenes restored on dvds too.
