Interesting that H-man brought up them cutting costs in Mystic Library. He’s absolutely right they were cutting costs, specifically so they could use the budget on the absolutely INSANE chase sequence with Raph. I love you guys, but did you not see how crazy and action packed that was 😅 That’s where the budget went, this is one of THE MOST expensive shows I have seen on Nick, that’s part of the reason it got canned. The toys sales and viewership wasn’t keeping up with the expenses of the show. The bright dynamic scenes, animation, setting, and character designs all add to the price tag. Compare this shows look and animation compared to Amphibia and Adventure Time, it’s in a different league entirely. Anyway ramble over, I think it’s so sad that this ambitious show never got to shine the way it deserved, I don’t know if we will ever see such pricy gorgeous animation on tv again because of how ROTTMNT failed…

Even though these last two episodes are more episodic and less plot related. One of the things I'm noticing in these episodes are demonstrations of the improvements made by the turtles in how they fight and how they use their powers. In that soft world-building kinda sense, the writers have been slowly upping how competent each turtle is with their powers. Raph's use of his powers to throw himself is a way of showing in a small way that gradual improvement.

I’m watching this show for the first time with these videos so idk if what I’m about actually pays off but! I don’t think mystic library was a useless episode cause it introduced a magical library that has materiel that could come back later on. Also they stole and kept that book on Escaping traps. Sure it was used on this little thing but given the types of villains they deal with that book might come back around

Yeh I understand the guys being a bit bummed because these two episodes are more episodic and don’t have much plot. But they do have a ton of laughs, when I was first watching the show I had to stop the episode because I was laughing so hard at Leo in Purple Game, his quips were so out of pocket in that episode 🤣 “I~ just read the comments~”, had me DYING. He’s so funny in this series, I’m not ready for wet blanket Leo to come back 🥲
